*Registration has begun & will continue through September 10th (2nd week of classes), but get registered today!* Form E1 (Enrollment Application) Course Offerings FALL 2009 September 3 – December 17(16 Wks) FALL 2009BI 401 Life of Christ: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John tell the poignant story of the Savior of the world, the worthy Lamb of God: Jesus Christ. Each gospel account is repleat with its own unique perspective, style, and purpose. Yet, they mesh together to give us a thorough picture of Who Jesus was, is, and will be as it relates to you and me. This course covers the life and ministry work of Christ that many of us are familiar with but equips each learner with a fresh comparative study of Jesus Christ as He is and the concoctions of modern-day thought about who Jesus was and is. This course will cause you to spend time with Jesus Christ and with the Word of truth surrounding both His earthly ministry and His eternal mission. You will be able to defend your belief in Him and extend your relationship with Him onto new heights. (3SH Credit--48 Contact hours) Instructor: John M. Brown, Academic Dean BI 302 Kingdom Principles: Jesus' sermon on the mount is a good source for understanding the essential, Godly principles of His kingdom. Pastor Franklin Gordon recently wrote, "Many who have believed in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation have not sufficiently progressed in their new walk toward mind-renewal because the connection has not been made that salvation brought us into a new kingdom and a new relationship with God." Christians were translated from the Kingdom of Darkness into God's Kingdom of Light. This course helps to define a veiwpoint and a mindset that will cause you to walk in greater maturity, awareness, and authority as you glean more of about what God has intended for you in His kingdom. The Kingdom is not merely at hand; it is here! (3SH Credit--48 Contact hours) Instructor: Jacquetta Cardwell, Deacon * In-house courses will run for 16 weeks but will meet only 7-8 times over the course of the semester with the remaining contact ours fulfilled in the online setting C.A.B Course Offerings
| We are offering CAB Courses for the first time in our School of Ministry's history, and we are excited about this very new endeavor! |
What is a CAB Course? A CAB Course is a Cooperative Academic Bible Course that we at GCSM are willing to offer to a group of 5 or more members. CAB Courses come to you via the internet and even site visits by the instructor when appropriate. Do you know of individuals who desire to take classes but would feel more comfortable in a cooperative study with you and others that they work with, fellowship with, or with whom they share their daily lives? If you have the group, we will provide the quality Christian education necessary for personal and ministerial growth. How long are CAB Courses? CAB Courses are 8 weeks in duration and can begin within the time frame of the current semester (September 3 - December 17). Contact us for special circumstances and date requests; we are willing to accommodate an enthusiastic and eager bunch of God-chasers! When do CAB Courses begin? Start dates for cab courses run within the current semester and must be completed by the end date of the current semester. (For example, FALL Semester 2009 begins on September 3 and ends on December 17. The earliest start date for a CAB course this semester is September 3, and the latest start date would be October 22 (since October 22 through December 17 constitutes 8 weeks). The eighth week of a CAB Course must be complete by the current semester's end. What is the learning mode for CAB Courses? CAB Courses are completed online. You must have access to a computer, and you must have an email address/account (free through public sources like Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, etc.). On occasion, you're cooperative group may request or arrange a site visit by your instructor or a live chat session via our School's classroom environment. Are CAB Courses worth the same amount of semester-hour credits? Most certainly, CAB Courses still constitute 48 contact hours of instruction and will earn the learner the amount of semester-hours assigned in the course catalog (typically 3SH per course unless otherwise stated). Cooperative Academic Bible Courses Available PT 121 Life Management: The big-picture aspect of the gospel is that we are reconciled to God through Christ Jesus and will one day rule and reign with Him. The Word tells us also, however, that our LORD is touched with the feelings of our infirmities. And, since infirmities are very temporal and corporeal realities, God is concerned with ALL things that pertain to us--not merely our final destination. Life management looks at aspects of your Christian life as they pertain to life and godliness and focuses on elements of interest to you necessary for success on your journey toward Christ-likeness. (3 Semester Hours) Instructor: Jacquetta Cardwell, Deacon LD 200 Victorious Christian Living: Victorious Christian Living is a course unique to the challenges of being a Christian in these modern times. It espouses a focus on growing in grace amidst common and not so common challenges. Three short writings by Dr. John N. Chacha, president and founder of Teamwork Bible College International, guide learners through an international perspective on the challenges of the world in which we live and the inherent victory we ultimately experience through Christ Jesus our Lord. (3 Semester Hours) Instructor: Franklin Gordon, Pastor & President [] PT 320 Hermeneutics: 2 Timothy 2:15 speaks of ‘rightly dividing the word of truth.’ Biblical hermeneutics involves how to properly interpret the various types of literature found in the Bible. For example, a psalm is different from a prophecy, and a proverb differs from a law. This is the purpose of biblical hermeneutics: to help us to know how to interpret, understand, and apply the Bible. (3 Semester Hours) Instructor: John M. Brown, Academic Dean [] BI 405 Ephesians: The book of Ephesians is hardly arguable as one of the most intriguing and profound books of the Bible. It is both theologically rich and poetically captivating. Ephesians contains eleveated principles that provide a divine insight into the overall scheme of God, yet this book clearly lays out practical steps for living our current lives. Instructor: John M.
